NBA Commissioner Adam Silver stated that the league will work to create a new global basketball league. The new league will be designed to rival or overtake the NBA. The commissioner mentioned that this league is in its very early stages and there are no specific plans yet. However, Silver did say that they are “actively exploring” the possibility of creating a new league.

Silver made these comments during his annual state of the NBA address at the NBA Board of Governors Meeting in New York City.
